Thanks and welcome!
Welcome to the first Gran Canaria Business Week, 2013.
This is the first event of its kind. We aim to make Gran Canaria Business Week a recurring annual conference during the first week of every year in Gran Canaria, Spain.
GCBW is produced by Norwegian businessman Hans Johansen, owner and publisher of SiVivaEspana.com – the 100 000+ people strong online fan community for Spain and the Canary Islands, with the largest Facebook pages for Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and more.
The Gran Canaria Business Week conference is intentionally set at the first week every year to allow and encourage businesspeople, professionals and anyone else vissiting Gran Canaria for the holidays to stay on for a few more days in Gran Canaria through the first week of January for both pleasure AND for some serious business at the same time. We emphasise the business aspect of this conference in order to allow you to consider this week actual work-time.
Several hundred thousand people come to Gran Canaria for the Christmas and New Year holidays, most head back to work in Northern Europe right after New Years, GCBW gives you the perfect good reason to stay on for a few more days, maybe we week or two for business and pleasure.
GCBW is a series of paralell professional presentations, speeches, roundtables, courses where you pick and choose to attend what is most valuable and interesting for you, we do not expect you to attend everything, your GENERAL PASS conference badge gives you access to the events as you please.
GCBW is a professional business conference, and it is also casual, relaxed, people oriented event. Some of the events are organized indoors, some outdoors, smart casual clothing is just fine on all events (pants and short sleeved shirts ok for men, no swimshorts indoors, no t-shirts, no sleveless shirts).
GCBW is focused on inspiration, networking (bring business cards), sales, marketing, human resources, presentations and communication with special focus on digital, internet and mobile developments.
GCBW gets its inspiration from the USA. In USA it is quite common for professionals and businesspeople to schedule business related meetings/seminars/golf in Florida, California, Arizona to enjoy some sunshine while duing business. We are also inspired by the Awesomnessfest conference in North America, we want to make something similar for Europe – but with a bit more business focus. : http://www.awesomenessfest.com/.
GCBW is aimed at vissitors from Northern Europe as well as local residents of Spain and the Canary Islands. GCBW is an arena to connect these groups.
GCBW provides you with the professional material that proves the quality of the conference program so you can consider your attendance at GCBW as actual work time with regard to work. Business owners and self employed people can justify deducting the full cost incured, including travel to Gran Canaria, as a business expense.
